The Southside around Shawlands and Strathbungo is red sandstone tenements and Victorian villas, with a lot of large bay windows and a fair amount of original stained and leaded glass.
Bays are the defining feature and the defining problem. They carry big panes, they take the weather from three sides, and the units in them are often the first to mist.
