Triple glazing in Glasgow without replacing your frames
Conventional triple glazing means new frames, because three panes are heavy and thick. Regency Triple uses an ultra thin middle pane, so it drops into the frames you already have.
The middle pane is 0.5mm Corning glass rather than a third sheet of standard float. That keeps the unit at 28mm and only about five per cent heavier than the double glazed unit it replaces, where conventional triple glazing is roughly fifty per cent heavier and needs frames built for it.
In practice that means the upgrade is a glass swap. Your existing frames, beading and reveals stay put, there is no plasterwork to make good, and most houses are done in a day. For a Glasgow tenement or a house with sound frames, it is the difference between a manageable job and a full window replacement.
Signs you need this
- Sound frames but cold, draughty rooms
- Heating bills that keep climbing
- Street or traffic noise coming through the glass
- Wanting the thermal benefit without replacing good windows
- Preparing for a heat pump, which needs a warm envelope to work well
How the job runs
- 1Check the pocket
We measure the existing units. Standard 28mm double glazed pockets take the 28mm triple unit directly.
- 2Order to size
Units are made to your exact sizes rather than cut down on site.
- 3Swap in a day
Old units out, triple units in, same frames, same beading. Most homes are finished in a day.
What it costs
Because it is a glass-only upgrade, this sits far below the cost of a whole house of replacement windows while giving you a large part of the thermal gain. Exact price depends on the number and size of units.

Will it fit my existing windows?
If you have standard 28mm double glazed units, almost certainly. We measure before quoting rather than assuming.
Is it really as good as normal triple glazing?
On heat loss it performs in the same territory, and it does it without the frame replacement. We will show you the figures for your specific unit size at survey.
Will my frames take the extra weight?
It is around five per cent heavier than the unit coming out, which sound frames and hinges handle. We check the hinges as part of the survey.
